Pune : Congress corporator Ravindra Dhangekar sent to Yerwada jail

Pune : Np News Network – A magistrate court on Monday remanded Congress corporator Ravindra Dhangekar (51) to magisterial custody remand (MCR) and sent him to Yerwada Central Jail in connection with attack on Pune Municipal Corporation’s additional commissioner Rajendra Nimbalkar.

He has filed for bail and the next hearing in the matter is on February 21. Earlier court had granted anticipatory bail to Congress corporator Arvind Shinde who is also accused in the case.

Nimbalkar was attacked by the leaders of Opposition parties after an argument broke out among them in the chamber of Mayor Mukta Tilak on February 11. Following the attack, Nimbalkar filed a police complaint late in the night and the leaders have been booked under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) along with other sections.
