Police constable caught taking Rs 50,000 bribe in police station

A policeman of the Pune rural police was allegedly caught accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a man for not registering a case against him on court’s direction.

Police head constable Dattatray Vishnu Hole (53) who is posted with Shikrapur police station, under Pune rural police. A 34-year-old man has lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Pune unit.

According to ACB, based on order from the court of a judicial magistrate (first class) under section 156 (3) of CrPC, an FIR has been registered with Shikrapur police station. The policeman demanded Rs one lakh bribe from the complainant for not making him accused in the case and instead offered to make him a witness.

However,the man approached ACB who laid a trap at the Shikrapur police station on Saturday and caught Hole red handed while accepting the bribe money.
