Pimpri Chinchwad: Sangvi cyclothon organised by PCMC, Lions Club receives good response from citizens

Sangvi: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and Lions Club International District jointly organized a cyclothon in old Sangvi. The initiative received a good response from citizens.

Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor Usha Dhore, Deputy Mayor Keshav Gholave, MLA Laxman Jagtap and other officials from the administration, police department also took part in the cyclothon. Regular cyclists, amateur cyclists, and other citizens also took part in the cyclothon.
The cyclothon was organized from Sangvi Phata to Sai Chowk Jagtap Dairy on the BRTS route at Sangvi Phata near Mahatma Jyotiba Phule flyover at Old Sangvi. The cyclothon started from this BRTS route.

Under the Government of India’s Clean India-Healthy India campaign, India Cycle for Change Challenge, a cyclothon was organized to emphasize the importance of cycling in society, to avoid noise and air pollution, to save fuel and maintain good health.

The aim of the corporation was to inculcate the importance of exercise in the young generation and especially, in the current situation of the pandemic.
