Pimpri Chinchwad Police | Three zones will be created in Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate

PIMPRI: NpNews24 Online – Pimpri Chinchwad Police | At present, there are two zones in the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate and their work is supervised by DCP level officers. However, to rein in the increasing crime graph in urban areas, a proposal of creating another zone has been sent to the administration. Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey told media persons that the proposal of creating a new zone is likely to get a green signal.(Pimpri Chinchwad Police)

An independent police commissionerate was set up on August 15, 2018 to control the crime rate in Pimpri Chinchwad. At that time, two zones were set up. At present, DCP Vivek Patil and DCP Dr Kakasaheb Dole are in charge of zones. DCP Swapna Gore has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Crime Branch and the administration.

Meanwhile, Sandip Doifode and Shivaji Pawar were transferred as DCPs in Pimpri Chinchwad on August 18. However, they have not been given any responsibility. It was being said that since three zones were going to be created, they had not been given any task. Now, the proposal of creating a new zone is likely to be approved in a fortnight. The newly transferred DCPs will be given a responsibility only after the approval is received for the third zone.

At present, four ACPs manage the work in two zones. After the setting up of the third zone, there will be six ACPs. A proposal has been sent to the administration and approval has been given for appointing four more ACPs. However, a GR has not been issued. CP Choubey said that the GR will be issued soon.
