Pimpri-Chinchwad police bans birthday celebration on roads

Pimpri : NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Taking a tough stand stand against increasing tendency of people celebrating birthdays on roads in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the police have banned such celebrations. The midnight celebration often disturb people.

 

In the past it has been seen that people often create ruckus during such birthday celebrations, which cause inconvenience to local residents as well as passersby.

 

Accordingly, written instructions have been issued to police stations to file cases against those who celebrate their birthdays on roads.

 

In first such case, Wakad police station on Thursday registered FIR against a group of people who were celebrating birthday on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday opposite Marathi school in Kalewadi. They were celebrating birthday of Gangaram alias Sandip Shankar Tambe.

 

As soon as cops learnt about it, a team led by police inspector Santosh Patil reached there and nabbed Tambe and his 12 friends. They have been booked for offences under sections 290 (punishment for public nuisance), 143 (punishment for unlawful assembly), 147 (punishment for rioting), 149 (member of unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 37 and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.

 

Senior police inspector Satish Mane, in-charge of Wakad police station, said that in future also such actions will be taken against those who will celebrate birthdays on public roads.
