Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch recovers 7 pistols, 28 live cartridges from estate agent

Pimpri : NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- A total of seven country-made pistols and 28 live cartridges, totally worth Rs 2.29 lakhs, have been seized from a real estate agent by the Pimpri-Chinchwad crime branch unit 2.

The arrested accused has been identified as Yogesh Bajirao Daundkar (35), Shell Pimpalgaon, in Khed taluka, Pune district.

Senior police inspector Sudhakar Kate said as per information received by policeman Dattatray Bansude, a trap was laid on Tuesday in Moshi area and Daundkar was caught. Two pistols and 11 live cartridges were seized from his possession. Later five more pistols and 17 cartridges were seized from his farmhouse. An FIR has been registered against him with Bhosari MIDC police station for offences under the Arms Act.

The action was taken under supervision of Police Commissioner RK Padmanabhan, additional CP Makrand Ranade, ACP Satish Patil. The investigation team included Assistant Inspector Satish Kamble, Sub Inspector Harshal Kadam, policemen Sanjay Gaware, Kiran Arute, Sandip Thakare, Chetan Mundhe, Mayur Wadkar, Rajabhau Barshinge and Mohammad Gaus Nadaf.
