Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch recovers 9 pistols, 13 live cartridges

PIMPRI NP NEWS NETWORK – In a major detection, officials from the Pimpri-Chinchwad police Crime Branch’s anti-extortion cell have detained five well-educated men and recovered nine pistols and 13 live cartridges, totally worth Rs 2.27 lakhs, from their possession. Cops have also seized their car worth Rs five lakhs which was used in the crime.

On November 25, the police team was patrolling in Hinjawadi when policeman Ashish Botke received information that a man would be coming near a showroom on the Pune-Bengaluru highway for selling pistol. Accordingly, the police team laid a trap and nabbed Suryabhan Lendve (30) of Bhosari. Police recovered a pistol and two live cartridges from his possession.

Later the police arrested four others and seized a total of nine country-made pistols and 13 live cartridges from their possession.

Police commissioner RK Padmanabhan, Add CP Makrand Ranade, ACP Satish Patil, Senior police inspector Sudhir Aspat supervised the investigation team which included PSI Vithal Badhe, Purushotam Chate, policemen Ajay Bhosale, Ashok Dudhawane, Ganesh Hazare, Mahesh Khande, Shailesh Surve, Vikrant Gaikwad, Nitin Lokhande , Umesh Pulgam, Sharif Mulani, Kiran Khedkar, Nishant Kale, Kiran Katkar, Sagar Shedge, Ganesh Kokane, Ashish Bankar, Praveen Mane, Sudhir Dolas and Nitin Khese.
