Pandharpur: 17-year-old Army aspirant dies by suicide after being harassed

Pandharpur: A 17-year-old girl, who dreamt of joining the Indian Army, died by suicide in Pandharpur. Reportedly, the victim was constantly harassed by three people and she took the extreme step as she was fed up with the trauma.

The body of the girl was found on the morning of December 7, police said. A note was recovered from the spot which mentioned the names of the suspects. In the note, she has also reportedly apologized to her parents and the country.

According to the note, one of the suspects had grabbed her hand and threatened not to complain to anyone. The suspect also eve-teased her on occasions.

The family found the note three days after the girl ended her life. The police informed that the girl had written the details in her notebook.

Prashant Bhamse, Senior Inspector from Pandharpur Rural Police Station said, “She wrote of her dream of wearing a military uniform and having a tricolor on it will not come true as she was fed up with the constant harassment”.
