One dead, 4 injured as car overturns at Bopdev Ghat

Pune: One person died and four were critically injured after their car overturned at Bopdev Ghat, the police said on Wednesday.

The injured were rushed to a hospital, the official added.

The deceased has been identified as Krishnakant Nandkumar Kalse (25), a resident of Yeolawadi, Tillekar Nagar. The injured have been identified as Yogesh Parihar, Chaitanya Ganesh Gandhi and Prathamesh Takle. A case has been registered at Kondhwa police station.

According to the police, the five friends had gone for an outing and were coming to Pune from Saswad. On their way back around midnight, the car lost control and overturned killing one person on the spot. Upon receiving this information, a female Police Sub-Inspector Gapat and night patrol police personnel rushed to the spot.

Kondhwa police are conducting further investigations.
