Notorious criminal, who has 80 house break-in cases registered against him, arrested by Pune police Crime Branch from Narhe; Police seize gold ornaments worth ₹11 lakh

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  –   Pune Police Crime Branch News | A team of unit 3 of the Crime Branch of Pune police has arrested a notorious criminal for 80 house break-ins. The police have brought to light five house break-in cases and gold ornaments of 20 gm worth ₹11 lakh have been seized, said Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Sunil Pawar. The arrested accused has been identified as Jaywant alias Jaidya alias JD Govardhan Gaikwad (34), a resident of Aundh. API Santosh Kshirsagar got information on April 24, 2023 that the accused was at Bhumkar Chowk area in Narhe. After verifying the information, a team of unit 3 laid a trap and arrested him. When he was searched, a screwdriver, an adjustable spanner and a metal weapon was found.

 

Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, ACP Sunil Pawar guided a team of officials including Sr PI Srihari Bahirat, PSI Ajitkumar Patil, PSI Rahul Pawar, API Santosh Kshirsagar, havaldar Rajendra Marne, Sharad Vakse, Kiran Pawar, Sujit pawar, Sanjiv Kalambe, Dnyaneshwar Chitte, Rakesh Tekawade, Satish Katrale, Prakash Katte, Sainth Patil, Pratap Padval, policewoman Sonma Nevse and Bhgayashree Waghmare took the action.

 

When a team of unit 3 questioned the accused, he admitted to committing house thefts under the limits of Sinhagad Road, Talegaon Dabhade, Sangvi police stations. The police have seized gold ornaments of 20 gm worth ₹11 lakh from him. PSI Ajitkumar Patil is probing the case.
