Nigerian arrested for overstaying in Goa

Calangute police have arrested one Nigerian national Mr. Promise Nkwachuku, age – 29 yrs on 25/09/2018 for illegally staying in India without any passport or visa.

As per PI Jivba Dalvi police staff while on patrolling in the evening at Baga noticed one foreign national moving. accordingly, police inquired with the Nigerian about his passport and visa. However, the accused person failed to provide any travel document or any other details.

Accordingly upon interrogation he was placed under arrest under section 3(2)(a) and 6(a) of Passport Entry into India rules, sec 3 & 4 of Passport Entry Act 1920 and sec 7(3)(iii) of Foreigners Order Act R/w sec 14 of Foreigners Act 1946.

The foreigner’s branch has been informed about the arrest to intimate the embassy. Accused has been remanded to 14 days of Judicial Custody.
