New Year 2021 : Rajkot police seizes branded liquor worth lakhs being transported in reputed transport company

Rajkot : There are now 35 days left for the New Year. Every year, before December 31, New Year, Gujarat Police seizes crores of rupees’ foreign liquor. Bootleggers remains keen to make a fortune at the end of the year as December 31 approaches. This year too, before the New Year party, the Rajkot City Special Operations Group has seized millions of rupees worth of foreign liquor.

“Our team’s PSI Atul Sonara was informed that a parcel of foreign liquor was being smuggled in the vehicle of a reputed safe express transport company,” said Rohit Rawal, Inspector of Police, Special Operations Group. Our team was on watch in front of the IOC plant on Kuvadva Road after receiving definite information. 24 Blenders Pride Whiskey Bottle, 72 McDowell Whiskey Bottle, 144 Royal Challenge Whiskey Bottle were found from Ashok Leyland truck of safe express transport company at that time.

Police have seized a total of Rs 16,31,700 including a truck worth Rs 15 lakh. At the same time, four accused have also been arrested. Police have arrested Praveen Bhavsar, Shailendra Singh Rana, Ajit Yadav and Ramaram Jat. All the accused will then be produced in court on Thursday. Their remand will also be sought.

The accused will be questioned during remand. In which all the accused are found involved in criminal activity for a long time. For how long have they been ordering such quantities of foreign liquor in Rajkot, whom they were selling large quantities of liquor, all these questions will be asked, including whether any other employees of the courier company are associated with them.
