Neither MP Nor Minister, Then Why Did Priyanka Get A Government Bungalow in Delhi?

New Delhi : The central government has asked Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to vacate the government bungalow in New Delhi by August 1. On behalf of the Union Urban Development Ministry, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has received a notice to leave the government bungalow in Lodhi Estate, Delhi.

Actually, the Union Home Ministry wrote a letter to the Urban Development Ministry on Tuesday. The Home Ministry said that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has got Z Plus security with CRPF cover. There is no provision for allocation of government accommodation in it. The ministry said that Priyanka Gandhi has not even got SPG protection.

On this basis, on Wednesday, the Directorate of Estate canceled the Congress leader’s allocation and directed to vacate the house within a month. The notice states that persons with Z Plus security cover are not entitled to government accommodation.

A notice was also issued to Priyanka Gandhi, in which there is a claim of arrears of Rs 3,46,677 by 30 June 2020. According to sources, Priyanka Gandhi has paid it after receiving the notice.

Who gets government accommodation?
According to PTI, on February 21, 1997, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was allotted a government bungalow on Lodhi Road. Priyanka Gandhi lives with the family in 6-B House Number 35 Lodhi Estate. After the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on 21 May 1991, the Gandhi family was provided SPG protection.
