NEET & JEE Exam Date Aannounced, Both Exams will be Held in July

New Delhi : The wait of students waiting for NEET and JEE exams is over now. The government has announced the date for both these exams. As per the dates announced by the government, the NEET 2020 examination will be held across the country on 26 July. Apart from this, the JEE 2020 exam will be held between 18 and 23 July. The JEE Advanced Exam will be held in August and the dates for that will be announced later.

It is worth noting that every year lakhs of students appear for the exams like NEET and JEE Main for admission in undergraduate courses in medical and engineering. This time due to the changed circumstances because of Corona, the National Examination Agency (NTA) also given some relaxation first time in NEET UG 2020 and JEE Main 2. All the candidates were given the opportunity to change the option of pre-filled exam city for these exams.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These examinations were postponed because of a nationwide lockdown implemented to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic from spreading. It is noteworthy that the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Mains) is conducted for admission in engineering colleges across the country, while the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is taken for admission in medical colleges across the country. Over 15 lakh students across the country have registered for NEET exam. This exam is the way to get admission in medical colleges in India. At the same time, more than nine lakh students have applied for the JEE-Mains examination, through which admission in all other engineering colleges in the country except Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) is done.

JEE-Mains is considered to be a qualification for the JEE-Advanced exam through which the IIT examination takes place. The National Examination Agency (NTA) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development has also given the option to the students to shift to the previously selected examination centers for both exams as students have gone to various places since the lockdown. It is noteworthy that in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the government ordered the closure of classes, after which universities and schools across the country have been closed since March 16. At the same time, a nationwide lockdown was announced on 25 March, which has now been increased till 17 May.

However, it is not yet clear when the pending exams of 10th and 12th will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board had announced that it would conduct the pending 29 subject’s exams as it is important for passing the class and for admission to higher educational institutions.
