Necessary precautions : What to do when you come in contact with a coronavirus patient

New Delhi: Coronavirus has created hostile environment all over the world. People are taking all necessary precautions while leaving their house such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance. However, the spread of the virus is rapidly increasing.

This is because coming into contact with people who have coronavirus without any symptoms. For instance- you meet a neighbour at the grocery store near the house and two days later you come to know that the person is tested positive, so eventually it is high chances you might get infected. If that happens what would you do?

So instead of panicking, who need to think how can you stop the spread and break the chain. Here are few tips which can help you do so.

• Quarantine yourself for 14 days- First of all, you need to quarantine yourself for 14 days. Coronavirus symptoms may take 10 to 14 days to appear. So isolate yourself at home for this period. Don’t mix up with you family. If you live alone, ask your friends and family to deliver essential items at the door of your house. Do not allow people to come into the house.
• Identify your symptoms- Contact your doctor if you experience any primary symptoms of coronovirus such as fever, shortness of breath, cough, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, runny nose, nausea, diarrhea, and muscle pain. Maintian distance of 6 feet from the family members until your corona test report comes
• Get the coronavirus test bu yourself- if you want to take test, first you yourself have to be confirmed as without doctor’s consultation the coronavirus test is not possible. Wait for atleast 5-7 for symptoms to appear. If you are corona positive then you will start showing symptoms in 7 days.
• Inform others when they meet- During isolation time you have not seen any coronavirus symptoms and did not took any corona test, then it is your duty to inform the people you are meeting that you have come in contact with a corona positive.
