In all, 59,317 pending and totally 1.55 lakh pre-registered cases were placed before the National Lok Adalat. Of domestic violence cases, there was compromise by mutual understanding in eight cases and both husband and wife decided to give another chance to their marriage, said member of District Legal Services Authority Mangal Kashyap.
In two cases which had come before the panel of Senior Civil Judge J. S. Bhatia, the litigants could not remain present in the court due to personal reasons and a discussion was held via video conference with court’s prior permission and a compromise was reached.

A case pertaining to a motor accident which had come before the panel of District Judge-6 SR Navandar was disposed of through the e-filing manner in the National Lok Adalat. The case was handled in a paperless manner. In one case, since the litigant was in Tirupati, he took part in the Lok Adalat through video conferencing and a compromise was reached. The case was disposed of on the principle of ‘justice at your doorstep’.

In two cases of Motor Accident Claims Authority, since the litigant was Divyang, he could not come to the court building. Hence, District Judge-6 SR Navandar came outside the courtroom and handed over a cheque of compensation to the litigant.

Chandak said the National Lok Adalat was successful due to cooperation of all judicial officers, legal associations in Pune and all talukas and other government and social organisations. CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad Ayush Prasad and Deputy CEO Sachin Ghadge provided help in disposing of cases related to gram panchayats.
