Lasalgaon: A leopard was spotted at Pimpalgaon near Lasalgaon on Tuesday (December 8) around 8 pm causing panic amongst the citizens. Farmers have asked the Forest Department(Leopard ) to set up a cage to rescue the leopard as soon as possible.

According to the information received, while going home from his grape vineyard, Sagar Aadhav spotted a leopard near a water tank in his field. When the leopard saw the tractor’s light, it ran in the opposite direction.

Since the leopard was spotted after many days, the village is in disdain and fear. Farmer Ambadas Jadhav, Gangadhar Khude, Pramod Aadhav, Sharad Ghode, Anand Aadhav, Charudutt Aadhav and Bhausaheb Sonawane have demanded to set up a cage at the earliest from the forest department.

Leopards are searching for new fields in villages in the Niphad district since it is almost nearing the crop cutting season. Hence the leopards that used to habitat in the sugarcane and cornfields are seen in other fields and villages too. Therefore to be safe and away from leopards, new plans should be implemented.
