Multi –Level Consultation meeting conducted by Indian Bank

NPnews24 online : Taking forward the agenda of reforms in the Public sector banks, Department of Financial Services has initiated a Multi – Level Consultation process and ideation starting from the branch level. The consultative meeting has been proposed to generate innovative ideas and out of box thinking on various banking related issues so that the banking sector effectively participates in taking the nation to a $ 5 tn economy.

The bank’s Top Management have moved to various places in the country to have deliberations with the branch managers.

In above context we the Indian Bank, Zonal Office , Pune has successfully conducted the meeting with the active participation of the all the branch managers dt 18.08.2019. The meeting has chaired by our FGM Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta, ZM Shri Manish Kumar, DZM Shri Prakash Nimje. We had a fruitful discussion ranging from the area specific issues affecting the growth of business of the branches, opportunities & growth potential available, requirements of the customers, improving digitalisation etc and aligning with the local priorities/needs.

Detailed discussion were held on bank lending to MSME sector including lending under Stand-up India, Mudra Loans, PSB loans @59 mins etc. Similarly, bank finance to agri and SHG lending were also focussed upon. Other areas like retail lending, digital transaction for both convenience and outreach were touched upon.

We are positive of the outcome of the consultation process since several new ideas/suggestion have emerged from our interactions with the Branch managers who are the first point of contact with the public.
