More than 1000 Cases of Coronavirus Reported in 24 Hours in Gujarat, 28 Deaths

Ahmedabad : Gujarat had the highest number of 1,078 cases of coronavirus on a single day on Thursday, taking the number of infected people to more than 52,000 in the state. The state health department gave this information. The department said that the number of infected with new cases reached 52,563, while the death toll due to the epidemic in the state rose to 2,257 with the death of 28 patients in the state since Wednesday evening. During this period, 718 people were discharged from state hospitals, bringing the total number of cured people to 37,958.

Of the 28 people who lost their lives due to viral infection since last evening, 14 are from Surat district alone, followed by five in Ahmedabad, two each in Kutch, Patan and Vadodara and one each in Bhavnagar, Botad and Morbi. So far 5,92,123 investigations have been done in the state. The number of patients now undergoing treatment in Gujarat is 12,348. 89 of these patients are on ventilators. On Thursday, 205 patients were cured in Surat district, followed by 203 in Ahmedabad and 71 in Vadodara. Surat has the highest number of 256 new cases, of which 181 cases have come from Surat city and the rest from other parts of the district. After this, 210 new cases were registered in Ahmedabad, out of which 187 cases have come from Ahmedabad city.

A total of 25,173 cases have been reported so far in Ahmedabad district, the highest in the state. With an increase of 256 cases on Thursday, the number of cases in Surat district has increased to 11,384, the second most affected district after Ahmedabad. About 4.31 lakh people have been kept in isolation in the state, out of which 4.30 lakh people are at home, while 1,809 people have been kept in various centers across the state.
