Medical stores protest; calls Nationwide strike

‘All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists’ (AIOCD) has called a nationwide strike on September 28 to protest against sales of online medicines or e-pharmacy.

The organization called such strike on Thursday. This strike is being observed by the association to protest against sales of medicines online. They are going against the common men consuming such online medicines via fake prescriptions.

The one-day strike is to protest against the online medicines being sold or the trending of e-pharmacy on September 28.

AIOCD has claimed that without following the liabilities of the law the online companies are providing medicines to the general public which is not justified to them. They said that consuming such medicines online might not only affect public’s health but also our value is decreasing with time.

Already the doctors in India are frustrated with patients taking Google lessons and referring online portals for curing themselves. And, now the public is adopting e-pharmacy more, they are preparing fake prescriptions, submitting them online and consuming such medicines without their consultation.

The sleeping pills like Codeine, Sildenafil, Tadalafil and abortion kit (MTP) are also available via online pharmacy.

People order such medicines online by sending old and fake prescriptions. These medicines are easily available on online pharmacy (e-pharmacy). Some people also prepare such fake prescriptions themselves and buy medicines online

General public buying medicines online has created problems for the Pharmacists and the medical shopkeepers. As, their presence and demand is losing its value, moreover common people are unaware of the negative impacts of consuming such medicines is the biggest problem which might occur.

The online dealers are also giving discounts on such medicines for selling.
