Maratha Reservation not taking name to settle, spark all over

Pune:

After settling from the agitation of Maratha Kranti Morcha in Mumbai still the sparks of such violence has been witness in Pune, Solapur and other parts of Maharashtra on Monday.In order to get reservation for Maratha community, agitation in the Maharashtra state is still going on.

Pune’s twin city Pimpri Chinchwad area’s Hinjewadi IT Park, was also not left. As on Sunday the volunteers of Maratha Kranti Morcha claimed that no bandh will be witness on Monday and not to fall prey to any rumours but on Monday morning when people especially Techies heading to office had face congestion issues.

Since Monday morning when every person struggle to reach the office and school but chaos was created at Shivaji Chowk by staging the protest of Rasta Roko agitation. Monday being first day of the week many ITians heading to office faced traffic jam and could not even step back as the traffic was left with chaotic situation in all ends. More than two hours such traffic was congested.

Similar situation was faced at Chinchwad area where the protesters in huge number gathered to pay homage to those who died in support of the protest for demanding Maratha Reservation.

Apart from it, in Ravet, Walhekarwadi in PCMC area the agitated protestors stone pelting to the nearby shops which was opened including an HDFC bank ATM and nearby showrooms. The agitators threaten the shopkeepers and businessman to keep their stores closed down or will have to bear the consequences.

A bus of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML)  bearing number MH-12-FC-3343 in the Fugewadi area was also marred and stone pelted. But luckily no one was injured in this.

A large number of young people came on Pune-Mumbai Expressway. The road was stopped by staging the highway some civil road. Rural police reached the place when they got the information that protestors have come out with Rasta Roko Aandolan. The police tried to scatter the group which was creating jam on expressway.

The management of Schools in this area have decided to stay closed. Large cops have been accommodated on the highway.

Ironically, in 2016 when the Maratha community launched its silent protests, a group of 20 women were the face of the marches, walking in front of hundreds of thousands of protestors and delivering motivational speeches at the end of every rally.

The Pune rally had to be halted five minutes after it had begun over arguments on whether the women should walk in the front or behind the men. One of the organisers of Sunday rally, blamed the crowd for such a move. It had become difficult to control the crowds, hence the women had to be asked to walk behind the men.

To support the Maratha agitation, the Group of Carrier workers association and merchant association has called for a one-day strike on Monday. Therefore, today’s vegetable and fruit markets have been completely closed in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Market in Gultekadi, Pune. A big settlement has been kept outside the Market yard.

Maratha Kranti Morcha has demanded that the state government should cancel the serious criminal cases filed against Maratha agitators. A protest rally (Prohibition March) was organized in Pune on Sunday by Maratha Samaj.

This protest was started from the statue of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Deccan, and a march will be held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial in Shivajinagar. Balasaheb Amare of Pune district, Tushar Kakade, Vikas Pasalkar, Dhananjay Jadhav, Raghunath Chitre Patil etc. have joined the Maratha Quota agitation in Pune.

A number of agitations are being held throughout the state since last few days to demand the Maratha reservation. Serious crimes have been registered against many protesters in this protest. The march was demanded to cancel the crimes registered against Maratha Protestors.

The Maratha people took part in the movement in Pune, carrying a banner and a large number of Maratha people. Slogans like Ek Maratha Laakh Maratha were raised during this rally.

Solapur:

There is state of tension in Maharashtra. There are still ongoing march in some major cities of the state. The government has demanded a direct discussion with Maratha protesters regarding the Maratha reservation.

Dharna Aandiolan is going on in Solapur on Monday. Since the protesters were not ready to step back, the police laathicharged in Shivaji during the agitation. The group of protesters scattered within 10 to 15 minutes after the laathicharge done by the police officials.

Solapur has been asked to Bandh by Maratha Protestors in demand of Maratha Quota Agitation. Protestors have called for Dharna Aandolan at Solapur’s Shivaji Chowk. Since the protest has been witnessed to turn violent in many parts of the state, police had deployed the tight security in Solapur to avoid any kind of disappointing activities.

During this protest, group of protestors covered the road from all sides and loudened slogans. The protest turned violent and stone pelting was done. The glass of Deputy Superintendent Police Pournima Chowgule’s car was broken in this stone pelting. Police have arrested the protestors who evoked the crowd.
