Man sexually assaults woman, cheats her of Rs 3 lakhs and jewellery; beats her up as she demands her money back in Fursungi

A 30-year-old woman from Karad taluka lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar Police Station on Saturday. An FIR has been registered against Suraj Dashrath Katkar (26) from Fursungi under sections 376 (2) (N), 324, 323, 406, 509, 506 of the IPC. A case was immediately registered against the accused after the victim came to the police station with a lawyer and lodged a complaint.
According to the police, the accused lured the complainant into marriage and had physical relations with her. The accused took Rs 3 lakh and 2.5 tola gold necklace from the complainant. He also sexually assaulted her and took her intimate photos and threatened to make them viral. When the complainant demanded money and jewellery back, the accused abused and injured her with a knife.
