This has been revealed from the note in his pocket. (Pune Crime News)

Hina Vijay Herkal (45) from Kasba Peth has lodged a complaint at the Shivajinagar Police Station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Sandeep alias Nitin Madhukar More and Deepa More from Shivajinagar Gaothan. The incident took place in the early hours of April 17, 2021 at Saj Chambers in Shivajinagar. The person who committed suicide is identified as Vijay Krishnarao Herkal.

According to the police, Dipa More, the sister of the complainant’s husband Vijay Herkal, told that her husband Sandeep More is in need of money. Vijay Herkal mortgaged his house and borrowed a loan of Rs 10 lakhs from South Indian Bank. On March 5, 2019, he paid Sandeep More Rs 8.5 lakhs on the condition that Sandeep would pay his installments. However, More did not pay the installments. In January 2020, a meeting was held between his relatives. Sandeep More had taken a loan from Gyandeep Co Op Society Credit Institution. Vijay Herkal had remained as surety. The credit institution had sent a notice to him for non-payment of installments. In this regard, Herakal had repeatedly asked his sister and her husband to pay the installments of the loan. But, they did not pay the installments. So in April 2021, the bank sent a notice to foreclose the mortgaged house. He was constantly under stress. That is why on April 17, 2021, at 4:30 in the morning, he committed suicide by jumping from the gallery.

After his relatives performed his last rites, while keeping his clothes a note was found in the pocket. The note read, ‘I hold Dipa More and Sandeep More responsible for my death. The loan that I had taken has been used for both of them. So don’t hold anyone else responsible.’ It was signed. The note was also written in English. Its photo was taken on a mobile phone. The note was sent to a handwriting expert for verification. Its report came after almost 2 years. Since that signature belongs to Vijay Herkal, now the police have registered a case.
