Maharashtra govt lifts ban on teachers recruitment, will ‘hire’ them without paying single penny

Mumbai: NP NEWS 24 – The recruitment of teachers in universities and colleges in Maharashtra is now open. Maharashtra Government will be recruiting teachers and now the colleges will be allowed to fill the seats. Education minister Vinod Tawde has said that the Government is trying to recruit teachers without paying a single penny. Also, the honorarium paid to teachers has been increased, Tawde explained.

Recruitment orders for 4738 teaching and non teaching positions have been approved for senior colleges across the state. Furthermore, the remuneration for the teachers on clock hour basis, has been doubled per the newly issued directive.

Tawde tweeted on Friday, “Recruitment orders for 4738 teaching and non-teaching positions have been approved for senior colleges across the state. Furthermore, the remuneration for the teachers on a clock hour basis has been doubled per the newly issued directive.”

There was a discussion of the vacant posts in universities and senior colleges in the state for many years. Considering the loss to students due to this, not only the teachers will be recruited on an hourly basis and now the teachers will be recruited directly.

Tawde said that 4,738 posts will be filled including that of 3580 teachers, 139 seats in the physical education department, 163 posts of libraries and 856 posts of laboratory assistants. In addition, the honorarium of the majority of the staff has doubled.
He said that the recruitment of colleges and universities staffs will be done in accordance with the prevailing policy of higher and technical education department.
