MAHARASHTRA Coronavirus Update : 711 New Cases – 350 People Recovered – 35 Deaths in 24 Hrs, Total Cases 14,541

Mumbai : With 711 new cases of coronavirus infection reported in Maharashtra on Monday, the total number of infected people in the state increased to 14,541. Of these, a total of 583 people have died due to coronavirus infection. On Monday, a total of 35 people died in the state, with this, number of deaths in the state reached 583. Of the 35 deaths on Monday, the highest number of deaths occurred in Mumbai.

A total of 350 people recovered from the coronavirus infection on Monday across the state. With this, the number of coronavirus cured patients has reached 2465 in Maharashtra. But even after this, the state’s condition is serious. Maharashtra is the most corona-affected state in the country and Mumbai is the most corona-prone city in the state. On Monday, 510 new Corona cases have been reported. There are a total of 9,123 cases here.

On Monday, 12 policemen including six sub-inspectors of JJ Marg police station in Mumbai were also found to be infected with coronavirus. Officials gave this information. An official said that eight out of 12 policemen have no symptoms of the disease. He said that 40 people who came under his contact have been kept in isolation as a precautionary measure.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Avinash Dharmadhikari said, “The infection was confirmed today (May 4) among these policemen.” Six of the 12 infected are sub-inspectors. All the 12 policemen have been admitted to the hospital while 40 people who have come in contact with them have been kept in isolation.

For the time being, prohibition imposed under Section 144 of CrPC in Mumbai has been extended till May 17 in view of increasing lockdown which would prohibit the assembly of four or more people. A police officer gave this information on Monday. The entire city has been declared a red zone due to excessive cases of coronavirus infection in Mumbai.

“We have extended section 144 of the CrPC which prohibits the gathering of people,” the official said quoting an official order. The official said that citizens should get essential goods between seven in the morning and eight in the night. They are allowed to move out of homes to buy, but they must follow the rule of maintaining social distance.
