Maharashtra : Corona cases in Amravati increased due to negligence of people & change in virus

Mumbai : The state’s health department has blamed locals for the growing cases of corona in Amravati district of Maharashtra. It says that the biggest reason for the increase in cases of Covid-19 in the district is the change in the type of coronavirus and negligence by the people. A senior health department official gave this information.
According to the information, the number of infected in Amravati this week was the highest in the state. The number of new cases in the district stood at 82 on Tuesday, while 230 new cases were reported on Wednesday. After this, the lockdown was announced in the district from 8 pm on February 20 from the morning of 22 February.

The health department is concerned over the increasing infection of Covid-19 in the state. Technical advisor to the Government of Maharashtra, Dr. Subhash Salunke said that samples found in Amravati district showed that the infection was increasing due to the change in the virus. In such a situation, the risk has increased for those who are suffering from serious diseases. He told that the new form of the virus is very dangerous, due to which people are getting pneumonia. In such a situation, if a person already has a disease, the risk of such infection can increase. At the moment, this is only apprehension, as the death toll has not yet increased in the district.

Dr. Salunke said that the biggest reason behind the rise of Corona cases in the district is the negligence caused by the people. In many cases people belonging to the same family have been found infected. This means that they were infected during public events and overcrowding, where the Covid-19 protocol was not followed. He said that the state government was tracking people coming in contact and increasing RT-PCR investigation to deal with the increase in infection cases.
