Lockdown : Bihar Migrant Workers Leave for Homes on Foot

Jaipur : To prevent the growing infection of Coronavirus in India, the entire country has been locked-down for the next 21 days. People have been asked to stay in their homes for 21 days (till 14 April). After this decision, public transport across the country has been completely closed. From bus to train and plane to auto, taxi, all are banned. In such a situation, you will be surprised to know what 14 workers working in a cold store in Rajasthan did to return to their home in Bihar.

After the closure of cold store, they left on foot to come to Bihar from Rajasthan and after walking continuously for three days, they have only reached Agra. During this time, their condition deteriorated due to hunger and thirst.

Even after traveling for three days, they still have to cover a distance of about 1000 km to reach their home. These workers told that they all used to work in a cold storage in Jaipur. It was only 25 days since they started work that the entire Jaipur was locked.

After the lockdown, the owner of the cold storage gave him 2000 thousand rupees and asked him to return home because the cold storage has also been closed.

On not getting the train, bus or any other ride, all those workers decided to reach home on foot and left Jaipur. While reaching Agra in three days, they also faced many difficulties.

These workers told that when they got out of Jaipur on foot, they were stopped by the police in many places due to curfew, they did not let any vehicle go.
