Live-in-Relationship 50 years, Now Children Got Them Married ! Groom of 73, bride of 67 !

Kawardha: A unique marriage was seen in Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh. Here, the 73-year-old groom got married to 67-year-old bride. The dream they saw 50 years ago, their son has completed it now. While fulfilling his father’s wish, the son got the Hindu couple to get married with all the rituals. Hundreds of people became witnesses of this marriage. Sukal Nishad 73 years and Gautarahin Bai Nishad, who lived in village Khairzhiti of Kawardha district, got married on 14th February i.e. Valentine’s Day. However, they have three children. they have two sons and one daughter, who are also married.

Sukal Ram was sorry that he was not married with pomp and customs. There was a discussion in the village about this, that after death, he will not get salvation. Therefore, with the consent of the villagers and the family, their marriage took place.

Actually, this whole matter is of village Khairzhiti of Kawardha. This love story started fifty years ago when Sukal Ram went to village Birsinghi in Bemetra district to see a girl for his friend. The girl whom they went to see, her younger sister was Gautarheen Nishad and Sukam ram had fallen in love with her. But at that time the financial condition of Sukal’s family was not right. So both could not get married. However, later Sukal brought Gautarheen home without marrying her.

Dhannu Nishad, son of Sukal Ram, said that without marriage, there will be no salvation. The wedding was arranged according to the wishes of the family with the advice of the villager. Everyone took part in this marriage, wedding ceremony was done with pomp.

Villagers told that they could not get married before due to some circumstances. The topic of discussion in the village was that both of them are not married, so they will be ghost after death and will roam in the village. Therefore, after the consent of the villagers, it was decided to marry them.
