Leopard In Pune | Leopard Cub Reunited with Mother in Pune District: Forest Department and Wildlife SOS Collaborate

Pune : Leopard In Pune |  In a joint effort, the Maharashtra Forest Department and Wildlife SOS successfully reunited a 45-day-old male leopard cub with its mother near Chas village in Pune district. The cub was discovered near an onion storage house in the Manchar Forest Range, and concerned villagers immediately informed the forest department. The cub was taken to the Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre for medical treatment before being reunited with its mother on the same night.

The Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre, operated by Wildlife SOS, examined the young cub and provided necessary hydration therapy to improve its health. Once deemed fit, the team arranged for the cub to be returned to the location where it was found. Trap cameras were set up, capturing the heartwarming moment when the mother leopard approached and gently picked up her cub before retreating to a safer location.

This successful reunion adds to the collaboration between Wildlife SOS and the forest department, resulting in over 100 leopard cub reunions since 2009. Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, expressed their satisfaction in assisting the forest department in this operation and highlighted the ongoing partnership between the two organizations.
