Lahuji: Primogeniture of Freedom and Revolution

Pune : “Lahuji Vastad Salve, who is believed to be the creator of many revolutionaries and following the legacy of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s services, history has done injustice to him. A film has been featured on Lahuji Salve who has been inspiration to many revolutionaries including Mahatma Phule, Vasudev Balwant Phadke and Lokmanya Tilak. People must stand for crowd funding to spread the history of his good work he did for all.” said Prof. Shivaji Dalnar, educationist and the coordinator of Marathawada University.

The teaser and the poster of biopic on Lahuji Salve were released on the evening of his birth celebration on behalf of Alwasa Foundation and Aispais Creations. President of Maharashtra Shahir Parishad Dada Pasalkar, Madhya Pradesh State Minister Krishna Chandra Thakur (Sisodiya), Founder of Jadhwar Institutional Group Dr. Sudhakar Jadhwar, City Congress President Ramesh Bagve, Actor Girish Pardeshi, Corporator Swati Lokhande, Lahuji Vastad Memorial’s Ashok Lokhande, President of Alwasa Foundation Shankar Bhadakwad, Aispais Creation’s Creative Director Vaibhav Shirole and many other dignitaries were present on the occasion. During this, donation was raised by many for the making of this movie.

Prof. Dalnar said, “Lahuji Salve created many revolutionaries in Pune. He supported and gave conservation to Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule to spread the importance of education. We should not forget that because, only due to their efforts, girls are getting education today. A movie should be made on his life so that people get aware of his untold story and everyone should contribute for this.”

Ramesh Bagve said, “This film is inspired by noble and holy intentions. This will help to strengthen the social movements. It is sad that even after being the huge personality, Lahuji Salve’s history has not been written. He was the teacher of many great revolutionaries. Lahuji Salve was truly the ‘Father of Nation’. Government should provide funds for this film.”

Prof. Dr. Sudhakar Jadhwar said, “The society needs to understand that our ancestors have contributed a lot for us. Lahuji Vastad’s grandfather was working for Shivaji Maharaj. Lahuji Vastad followed his legacy and created great revolutionaries. He supported Mahatma Phule and Savitri Bai Phule to spread the importance of education to public.”

Dada Pasalkar said, “Everyone should think that this film is ours and should work with this thought. We all should contribute as minimum as we can because the work made from the public donation remains unchanged. Lahuji Vastade’s work and fame is everlasting.”

Shankar Bhadakwad said, “This biopic is being produced to bring the work of Lahuji Vastad infront of everyone. Next year, the film will be released on the birth anniversary of Lahuji Vastad (i.e. on November 14, 2019).”

Art Director Santosh Sankar and Ashok Lokhande expressed their views. Somnath Devkate made introductory remarks while Datta Jadhav conducted the event.
