J&K : Terror Monitoring Group’s Close Watch On Institutions Teaching Jihad, ‘School Of Terror’ On Target

Srinagar : Terror Monitoring Group is keeping a close watch on ‘Jamaat-e-Islami’ educational institutions associated with Jammu and Kashmir in South Kashmir. Despite the ban on the institution, the schools and madrasas associated with the Jamaat are operating under different names. According to intelligence reports, about three lakh children study in these institutions. On the basis of the report, it is being said that these children are told about jihad against the Indian system. Now intelligence agencies are ready to cut their roots.

An official said that terrorists are not made in a day, it is a process. The same process is being followed in institutions associated with Jamaat. Poison is being filled in the minds of children in the name of ideology. Terror Monitoring Group-TMG is trying to hit its root. Terror Monitoring Group is taking action by identifying the financial sources of terror and the people and institutions that promote it.

An official said that institutions like the Jamaat-e-Islami fund and promote terrorism in the guise of work like education and helping people. The administration tries to motivate the local community for modern education.

The government has also started shutting down many schools run by local organizations in connection with the terrorists. This exercise has been going on for a year, but under the new name & identity, Jamaat’s underground workers run the institute. Last year, the state administration issued notices to several schools belonging to the Falah-e-Aam Trust and ordered closure. It is worth mentioning that FAT used to be a part of Jamaat-e-Islami earlier but later both separated.

According to intelligence sources, the Jamaat-e-Islami’s network of its schools is being used to instill anti-India sentiments among the children of Kashmir Valley. It encouraged members of its organization’s student wing (Jamiat-ul-Tulba) to join militant organizations for ‘jihad’. About 300 such schools were identified. Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir is different from the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind of India. Officials believe that Hizbul Mujahideen Jamaat-e-Islami is the military front of Jammu and Kashmir only. The officer said that it is not surprising that the structure of terrorism in the valley shows a deep connection with the fundamentalist cadres of the Jamaat.
