Ireland first EU country to re-enter COVID19 lockdown, Schools to remain open

New Delhi : Lockdown is being implemented again in Europe in view of the increasing outbreak of Coronavirus. Ireland is the first country in the European Union to have implemented a lockdown again to control the Corona infection, but has allowed schools to open.

This lockdown has been implemented following a recommendation by Ireland’s health experts to stop the increase in Kovid-19 cases. After this lockdown, Ireland will reach the highest level of Corona Virus Warning at -5.

However schools and day-care (creches) have been allowed to remain open during this period. At the same time some games may continue, but non-essential retail, barbershops and salons will be closed.

During the lockdown, only 10 people will be allowed to attend the funeral and only six people will be able to attend the weddings. Under the proposals for lockdown, it also stated that people must restrict daily activities within three miles (5 kilometers) from their home. In Ireland, Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan are currently at the Coronavirus warning level-4, while other parts of the country are at level-3.

Political leaders had discussed the matter with health officials in Dublin on Saturday and expressed concern that the virus was spreading rapidly, while a sub-committee of the cabinet met on Monday morning to discuss the plan.
