Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) | Pune : ITI Students Secure Lucrative Job Opportunities Abroad, Surpassing IT Graduates

Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) | In a surprising turn of events, students enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are now receiving job offers with significantly higher salaries compared to their counterparts pursuing traditional engineering courses such as BE and BTech in IT or CS. As an example, 37 students from various ITIs in the state have been selected for a dual degree program in Germany, with an impressive package of 10 lakhs during the training period and a staggering 28 lakhs 80 thousand rupees thereafter.

The increasing emphasis on skill education has transformed the landscape of vocational training. Consequently, ITIs are witnessing a surge in applications year after year, often double or triple the number of available seats. Notably, ITI students are now not only finding employment opportunities within the country but also abroad. According to D.A. Dalvi, Director of the State Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, students and parents are beginning to explore options beyond the conventional paths of becoming doctors or engineers. Many possess unique skills that, if nurtured and developed properly, can lead them to success on a global scale. With a shortage of skilled workers worldwide, those who complete ITI training stand an excellent chance of securing promising careers.

Recently, the government-run ITIs in Nashik, Pune, Aurangabad, and Shirdi’s Saibaba Sansthan ITI, along with Lalji Mehrotra Pvt. ITI in Jogeshwari East, Mumbai, saw a total of 37 students selected for dual degree programs in Germany. During the training period, these students will receive a monthly tuition fee of 84 thousand rupees, followed by 2 lakh 40 thousand rupees per month thereafter. These instances highlight the growing global importance of ITI courses.
