Pune Crime News | Man cheated by wife’s brother; Dupes him of ₹28 lakh under the guise of solving family problems

PUNE : Pune Crime News | An incident has come to light wherein the brother of a man’s wife in collusion with an astrologer cheated him of ₹28 lakh by telling him that there is a problem with the house and rituals would have to be performed and black magic would have to be performed to overcome physical problems. A 33-year-old businessman from Dhanori has lodged a complaint with the Vishrantwadi police station.

 

The Vishrantwadi police have registered an FIR against Abhishek Kulkarni Kaka (35), Vijay Govind Jadhav (30) and Sadashiv Fode, all residents of Indapur under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act. The incident took place between March 2021 to August 2021.

 

 

According to the police, the complainant is a software engineer in a private company. He was facing problems in his house. His wife’s brother told him that he knew an astrologer who would help him. Abhishek Kulkarni Kaka claimed to be an astrologer and handwriting expert. He came to the complainant’s house and after seeing the horoscope, said that a yantra would have to be installed in the house. Kaka told him that the yantra was worth ₹17.46 lakh and for his wife’s brother, it would cost ₹2.89 lakh. The complainant sent the money to Kaka’s driver Sadashiv Fode and installed the yantra in his house. The complainant felt some changes in his house. Later, on various occasions, he was told that rituals would have to be performed for blocking coronavirus, ancestors’ problems and for domestic peace and fleeced him.

 

Kulkarni Kaka came to his house and told him that a pooja would have to be performed for improving his and brother-in-law’s health. A pooja was performed. Sculptures of wheat flour were made and the complainant was told to garland them with ornaments. He was told that the statues would be taken to a math and pooja would be performed. After taking away the statues garlanded with ornaments, he did not return. During the lockdown, the complainant was promised that his ornaments would be returned. Kulkarni Kaka’s phone was not reachable.

 

 

When the complainant asked his brother-in-law, he pleaded helplessness. Finally, the complainant lodged a complaint with the police, said senior PI Dattatray Bhapkar.
