India, Agriculture and Government

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – India is the country having a population of about 1.3 billion which constitute approximately 18 percent population of the world. To feed that amount of population Indian agriculture is progressing but not to that extent.

There are some constraints in Indian agriculture which has to be eliminated to feed such population. In India per capita, land availability is very low, because of which farm mechanism is not possible on a large scale. It results in the delay of work and like western countries corporate farming is not possible in India.

Indian farmers are not aware of improved technologies which mean they are using seeds which were used for last year’s farming. There is a huge communication gap between agricultural Universities and farmers.

Indian farmers are using the wide amount of pesticides and fertilizers for farming in a desire to yield a good quantity and quality of crops every year which is dangerous for soil, as using of these chemicals are deteriorating the nutrient quality of soil which is making the crops hazardous to health.

When we look at a farmer’s economic condition, it is not proving that much effective as initially it is considered it would as sustainable farming is only benefitting the farmers on a temporary basis at the and of the day and not for a long time.

Administration problems are also taken into consideration for farming conditions. The development and implementation of agriculture schemes are not updated. Also, farmers are away from Indian Agriculture Marketing System due to which even if the farmers have the good quality of products, they can’t get the prices they deserve for it.

Lastly coming to rainfall availability in India, southwest monsoon is one of the most essential monsoons in India, but in recent years it’s unavailability and inequality has disturbed the Indian agriculture.

For this, the government should try to find a way for the farmers to boost Indian agriculture. farmers should take a little more pain and sell their products directly and independently to their consumers and not through any mediator as the mediator can make profits from the money which is a loss to the farmers. After this, there are chances of the condition to improve.
