Hinjewadi minor girls gang-rape case – 2 more accused arrested

The Hinjewadi police station has arrested two more accused persons for allegedly sexually abusing the minor girls before they were allegedly gang-raped by two others.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sumiran Gurudas Gaikwad (18) and Somnath Atish Waghole (23), both residents of Darumbre village in Maval taluka.

Police had earlier arrested Ganesh Nikam and his 17-year-old accomplice.

The two minor girls were allegedly gang-raped and sexually abuse in Hinjewadi area by a man and his minor accomplice on September 16. The incident took place behind a temple while undergoing treatment on Wednesday one of the victims died.

According to First Information Report (FIR) registered with Hinjewadi police station under Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissionerate, both the girls aged about 12 years group had visited a temple on festive occasion.

The suspected arrested person lured them with some sweet and took them behind the temple and then gang-raped and sexually abused them in the bushes released them after threatening to kill them.

They threatened them of dire consequences if they revealed the incident to anyone.

However, one of the girls informed her parents and the incident came to light on Wednesday. The condition of one of the deteriorated and she was rushed to Sassoon General hospital was in the coma and later Wednesday evening she died.

After getting information, police nabbed the suspect who works se laborer with a factory.

Considering the seriousness of the case, senior officers including police commissioner Padmanabhan visited the spot in Hinjewadi and monitoring the case investigation. Duo has been booked under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code as well as Protection of Children From Sexual Offence Act.
