Highest ropeway 8km long to be built ‘here’

Rohtang: After the opening of Atal Tunnel Rohtang, 8.01 km long ropeway from Kothi to Rohtang is being constructed at a cost of 540 crores for Rohtang. The tourism department has surveyed Rohtang ropeway and sent its entire estimate to the government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived at the inauguration of Atal Tunnel Rohtang on October 3, also saw this project. This ropeway to be constructed in the three phases will be the longest ropeway to be built at the highest place in the country. Due to its formation, the tourists will be able to visit the Rohtang Pass even in the snowy winter season.
The first phase of the ropeway will be from Kothi to Gulaba in Manali, which will be 1.2 kilometers in length. The second phase will be from Mari to Marhi, which is 2.8 km in length and the third phase from Marhi to Rohtang Pass will be 3.1 km in length. In this fully equipped ropeway, two helipads will also be built at Marhi and Rohtang Pass. After completion of all the ropeway procedures, the government will make the approval. All these tourist places will be added to the ropeway which comes between Kothi to Rohtang Pass.
The ropeway will encourage tourists to reach their sightseeing spots easily. The tourists used to take two to three hours to cover the 51 km journey from Manali to Rohtang Pass including long hours of traffic jams. Whereas the ropeway will help you reach Rohtang in just 20 minutes.
Rohtang ropeway project director Amitabh Sharma said that the entire process of the ropeway is ready and the project is with the government. The similar assurance of Rohtang ropeway file sent to the government is given by District Tourism Officer Krishna
