Hema Malini Supports Jaya Bachchan’s drug statement: targeting the entire industry is wrong

Mumbai: After Shiv Sena Leader Sanjay Raut, actress Hema Malini has come in support of Jaya Bachchan’s statement in parliament. It is wrong to defame the entire industry due to few people being linked with drugs.

Ever since the drug angle surfaced in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, it has caused a stir in the entire industry. The controversy which was earlier limited to just one case has now penetrated the entire Bollywood. Bollywood and its drug debate also entered the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. Jaya Bachchan has targeted Ravi Kishan and said- don’t bite hands which feeds you, this statement has attracted a controversy.

Hema Malini has shown support to Jaya Bachchan’s views. It is wrong to defame the entire industry or link everyone to drugs.

During an interview to a news portal, Hema said – ‘Why is it only Bollywood. This happens in many industries. But this does not mean that the whole industry is bad. The way Bollywood is being targeted, it is wrong. This is not the case at all’.

Celebs like Sonam Kapoor, Anubhav Sinha, Farhan Akhtar, Taapsee Pannu have also supported Jaya before Hema Malini. A section of Bollywood is openly welcoming her statement. However, actress Kangana Ranaut has besieged Jaya Bachchan on this issue.

While dragging Abhishek into this controversy, she has tweeted- ‘Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also’.
