Heavy Rain Forecast in Mumbai Today & Tomorrow, Advice Not to Leave the House Without Emergency



Mumbai : Mumbai received rains on Monday due to the active monsoon over the Arabian Sea and the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in Mumbai and its suburbs for the next two days. The weather forecasting agencies have said that the intensity of rain will increase in Mumbai and other areas of Maharashtra in the next two days. The townspeople have been advised not to move out for the next two days.

Skymet Weather, a private weather forecasting agency, said Mumbaikars are advised to avoid going out on August 4 and 5. He said that from August 6, its intensity will start decreasing. The Meteorological Department has also advised fishermen not to venture into the high seas on the east coast due to the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The Odisha Center of IMD said that a low pressure area is expected to form in the northern Bay of Bengal on Tuesday. This will cause heavy rains in various districts of the state.

The Meteorological Center has advised fishermen not to venture into the deep sea until August 6 as winds with speeds up to 50 kmph can occur. Moderate to heavy rains are likely in many parts of Madhya Pradesh where the monsoon has not been very active so far. Humid weather prevails in various states of North India – Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Monsoon was active in these states last week. It has now moved to the south.
