HDFC bank will increase the network of bank mitra by hiring 14000 correspondents more

New Delhi: HDFC Bank to provide the best banking facilities to the people living in remote areas of the country, HDFC Bank will increase the number of its bank correspondents from 11,000 to 25,000 by March.

The motive behind it is to increase access to rural areas. A top bank official gave this information on Friday. Currently, the number of bank friends is 11,000.

HDFC Bank’s Country Head of Government Institutional Business and Startups Smita Bhagat said, “We are always striving to provide the best banking facilities to all customers, even those living in remote areas of the country. As part of our efforts, we will increase the number of bank mitra from 11,000 to 25,000 by the end of this financial year’.

According to her all banking facilities like opening of accounts, term deposits, payment products and loans will be available to the customer through bank friends. The bank is also looking at the use of Government’s Common Service Centers (CSC) to expand its Bank Mitra network.

The bank joined hands with the CSC e-Governance of the Government of India in 2018 to expand its reach to remote parts of the country.
