Gujarat : No Mask fine collected is higher than Statue Of Unity income in 58 days

Ahmedabad : At a time when Corona’s disease is spreading around the world, some steps are being taken by the government to prevent Coronavirus spread and make the public aware of this. While masks are the most essential weapon in the fight against coronavirus, many people are also reluctant to wear masks.
As a result, the government started levying fines on those who do not wear masks, and today the fine has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. Then the statistics of the fines paid by Gujaratis for not wearing masks in the last 58 days are really shocking.
26 crore income in 58 days
In the last 58 days, people have paid a fine of Rs 26 crore. A total of 26 lakh people have been fined. Even more than the total tourist revenue of the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, the government has earned by levying fines from people without masks. The Statue of Unity was unveiled on October 31, 2018. As on October 31, 2019, i.e. in one year, the revenue was Rs 63.50 crore.
In the last 5 months alone, the Gujarat government has recovered a total fine of Rs 78 crore on those who break the corona rules and do not wear masks. Within the last 58 days, an income of Rs 26 crore has been collected only from those who do not wear masks. According to reports, fines have been collected from 26 lakh people for not wearing masks.
