Gujarat: Massive Fire Breaks Out At Surat ONGC Plant

Surat: Hazira-based Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) plant in Surat, Gujarat, caught fire at midnight on Wednesday. According to the information, firefighters’ vehicles have reached the spot to control the fire. However, more information is awaited in this regard.

ONGC plants were shut down after a fire broke out in the plant late at night. According to the information received, the fire was seen from five to six kilometers away.

10 to 12 firefighter vehicles of ONGC and Surat Fire Department have reached the spot to douse the fire. The whole incident created an atmosphere of panic. While all roads leading to the ONGC plant have been closed for security reasons, a high-ranking police convoy has also been rushed to the spot to check the seriousness of the incident. Before this recent incident, in 2015 also, the ONGC plant in Surat had caught fire in which an estimated 13 people were burnt alive.
