Good News For Consumers : Govt. Launches Mobile App to Differentiate Between Genuine & Fake Goods

New Delhi : Now if you go to the market to bring any goods which have ISI or Hallmark, then you will be able to know immediately whether those goods are genuine or not. Bureau of Indian Standards i.e. BIS has launched a mobile app to find out this.

‘BIS CARE’ is the name of the mobile app
The Bureau of Indian Standards today launched a mobile app named BIS CARE. This app will help customers to differentiate between genuine and fake goods. For example, if you go to buy a fan or any other item from the market, then it carries the mark of ISI. If you suspect that the fan does not seem to belong to the brand whose name is written on it, then you can see the complete information of the brand and that company on the app by writing the number of ISI mark on this app named BIS CARE. As soon as you write the number, the complete information about that brand and company including the owner will be revealed on your mobile app.

The app will tell whether gold is real or fake
The authenticity of gold can also be tested with this app. It has been decided to make hallmarking of gold jewellery mandatory, which will come into force from January 1 next year. By putting the gold hallmarking number on this mobile app, it can be seen whether the gold is real or not. Launching the app, Union Consumer Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that the government has taken many steps to protect the interests of consumers and consumers should use their rights by using them.

Can also file a complaint on the app
Another feature of the app is that if you find the goods to be fake, then at the same time you can also register your complaint with this app. The mobile app can be downloaded on any Android phone. The app will be available in Hindi and English at the moment and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
