Generator car of Shatabdi Express caught fire at Ghaziabad railway station

A massive fire broke out at the generator car of Shatabdi Express at Ghaziabad railway station on Saturday morning. According to details available, the parcel coach of Delhi Lucknow Shatabdi train caught fire at Ghaziabad station. Railway officials immediately rushed to the spot on receiving the information. However, no casualties were reported in this fire incident.

Shatabdi Express train which halts at the Ghaziabad railway station for 2 minutes, resumed the journey after 1.5 hours. As soon as the guard of the train potted the blaze, he raised an alarm. Fire officials were rushed to the platform and a massive firefighting operation was launched. The situation was brought under after an hours.

The fire was in the rear bogie of the train i.e. generator and luggage vehicle. The task of extinguishing the fire was done by immediately separating the  ignited bogie from the train. Due to which the fire was controlled immediately and there has been no loss of life.

On Saturday, March 13 also, a fire broke out in a coach of Shatabdi train coming from Delhi to Dehradun. In which the cause of the fire was said to be a short circuit. It is a matter of relief that no casualties were reported even in this incident.
