Free Diabetes Check-up & Organ Donation Awareness Program by Lions Clubs International 

PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Lions Clubs International in collaboration with Ruby Hall Clinic and Patit Pavan Sanghatana is organising an Awareness Rally on 19th November 2018 at 8 am and there will be Presentations by eminent doctors on Diabetes & Organ Donation.

The rally will have participation of students, sports players, diabetic patients, senior citizens, doctors, scholars from different fields, lions and many more persons. It will start from City Pride Theatre, Kothrud and end at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium.

After this rally, a program will be held at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Kothrud on the same day. It will include Presentations on diabetes and organ donation awareness. There will be FREE check-up for Diabetes from 12 noon to 3 pm at same venue for public.

Dr. Pervez Grant will be felicitated by “Samaj Ratna Puraskar” and Dr. Sanjay Pathare, Medical Director of Ruby Hall Clinic will be felicitated by “Samaj Mitra Puraskar”. Mayor of Pune Mrs. Mukta Tilak and Member of Parliament Anil Shirole will flag off the Rally.

Other dignitaries will include District Governor (2016-17) MJF Lion Dr. Chandrahas Shetty, District Governor (2018-19) MJF Lion Ramesh Shah, Shobhatai Rasiklal Dhariwal, Lion Omprakash Pethe, and Lion Abhay Shastri.

Diabetes is one of the serious diseases, which is rapidly being spread in children as well because of the unhealthy food habits.

Organ donation has been less discussed topic in India, for which people will be given guidance and motivations to live even after death by donating their organs to patients in need.
