Four minors charged for violating a 13-year-old in Thane

Thane: Police have registered a case against four minors for raping a 13-year-old girl in rural Thane, the police said.

The accused even threatened to kill her parents if she told anyone about the incident. Ganeshpuri police said that all the four accused in the case were minors.

The incident took place in July last year. However, the victim told the family the whole incident on Sunday (February 14). The victim’s father then contacted a social worker who approached the police and a case was registered against the four.

A police official said that on Sunday, the girl’s father saw one of the accused looking at his daughter and making obscene gestures, after which the two got into an argument. After the incident, the girl’s father approached a social organisation. After convincing the girl, she narrated him about the complete incidents.

After this, the concerned organization took the victim to the police station and filed a case against all the four accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The incident took place in July 2020 when the victim was on her way home after buying groceries from the shop. One of the accused asked her to go to an old secluded bungalow near the village and then the boy and three others raped her one by one. The accused allegedly threatened to kill her father if she told anyone about the incident. A few days later, two accused took her back to the bungalow and raped her again.
