For being lonely, 68-yr-old woman seeks compensation from ex-boyfriend

An unusual case was solved by the Pune city police, when a 68-year-old woman lodged complaint seeking compensation from her ex-boyfriend after 35 years of separation.

The 78-year-old man did not raise any issue and agreed to compensate his ex-girlfriend. This case had come up for counseling in the women grievances redressal cell. The cops resolved the issue between the two elderly ex-lovers.

Police officials said that loved had blossomed between them about 35 years ago. Both were English professors in a reputed college. But due to opposition from their family members, they could not marry and had broken-up.

The man moved on in life and married another woman and has kids also. However, the complainant didn’t marry anyone as she loved him only.

As time passed, her close relatives died. Now she is lonely with nobody to look after her. She is also suffering from cancer.

After 35 years, they met accidentally and the woman sought compensation for the loss of life from her ex-boyfriend. When he did not agree, she approached police.

The woman accused her ex-boyfriend of cheating in love as she had undergone abortion twice. If they had married, she would have a family and someone to support in her old age. Her financial condition is also not good, she needs money for medical treatment. My life was ruined because of him, she had alleged.

After counseling by cops the man paid her compensation.
