Fire erupted at Calcutta Medical College, 250 patients rescued

Yet again, a massive fire erupted in West Bengal based pharmacy department of Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. The department must thank their lucky stars that there was no harm to life in this fire.

After this fire, about 250 patients have been rescued from the hospital and moved to different blocks. The accident took place on Wednesday morning.

Calcutta Medical College is one of the oldest hospitals. The Calcutta Medical College has several buildings in the complex. There was panic and fear among the people after the fire broke out. Many patients have been rescued out of the building on stretchers and some patients have been taken out of their saline drips.

According to the information received, the fire erupted from the pharmacy of the hospital. After smoke was identified, people from hospital got panic and informed the fire department at around 8 am.

According to sources, some patients were seen lying on the ground out of fear.

Firefighters assumed that the fire erupted from the ground floor of the medical college. But the reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. Around 10 vehicles of Fire Brigade reached at the medical college to extinguish the fire. Currently, all patients have been declared safe in this fire accident.

Recently a few days ago there was also a similar fire incident in the Bagri market in Kolkata. It took more than 40 hours to take control over this fire.

Due to a crowded area, firefighters faced a lot of problems to get control of fire. This fire incident took place on September 16. There were about 250 firefighters who were involved in the rescue operation. Although there was no harm to life, many shops were destroyed causing a huge loss in business.
