Film Director Anurag Kashyap booked under rape charges
Mumbai : Film Director Anurag Kashyap has been booked under charges of rape after actress Payal Ghosh filed a FIR against him on Tuesday (September 22). Ghosh has accused Anurag of sexual abuse in connection with an incident that took place six years back at his house.
Payal has lodged a written complaint against the director on Tuesday at the Versova police station. At the time of filing this complaint, Payal’s lawyer Nitin Satpute also accompanied her.
Satpute has said that Payal remembers everything and she has also shared all the information related to the incident with the police. He said that this complaint was filed after serious consideration by his client as there is a possibility that the suspect in this case would try to destroy all evidences.
Payal had tweeted on social media a few days back and accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual abuse. She said that about 6 years ago, Anurag had molested her at his house. Payal has alleged that Anurag Kashyap pretends to be a feminist and shows that he respects women but in real life he is not the same person.
Meanwhile, Anurag has refuted all allegations. While defending himself Anurag has tweeted three times in a row. In one of his tweet, Anurag has said, “There are going to be a lot of attacks right now. This is just the beginning. I’ve got lots of phone calls advising that don’t say anything and keep quiet on this matter.’
