Devotees are given gold, silver as Prasad at this Indian temple

New Delhi : India and its culture is known for the great temples and its history. Indian temples are unique in many ways. One such unique temple is also in Manak of Ratlam city in Madhya Pradesh. In the rest of the temples, devotees usually get sweets or some food items as prasad. But the most special thing about this temple of Maa Mahalakshmi is that here devotees get jewels in the form of offerings. Devotees who come here go home with gold and silver coins. This temple of Maa Mahalakshmi is crowded with devotees throughout the year. Devotees come here to offer jewelry worth millions of rupees and cash to Maa Mahalakshmi.

On the occasion of Deepawali, Deepotsav is organized in this temple for five days from Dhanteras. During this time the temple is decorated not with flowers but with ornaments and rupees offered by the devotees. Kuber darbar is organised in the temple during the Deepotsav. During this time, the devotees who come here are given ornaments and rupees-money as prasad.

The doors of this temple remain open for 24 hours on the day of Deepawali. It is said that on the Dhanteras, female devotees are given a Kuber potli. Any devotees who come here are not returned empty handed. The tradition of offering jewelry and money in the temple has been going on for decades.

Earlier the kings here used to offer money in the temple for the prosperity of the state and now devotees are also offering jewelry, money. It is believed that by doing this, the blessings of Maa Lakshmi always remain in their homes.
